It allows users to securely transfer files between a local and a remote computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With WinSCP, users can connect to remote servers, browse their directories, and transfer files securely using encryption. The default location is usually fine for most users. You can keep the default setting or choose a different folder. Click &#8220;Next&#8221; to continue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Additional Tasks<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Here, you can choose whether you want to create desktop and quick launch shortcuts for WinSCP, as well as whether you want to run WinSCP after the installation is complete. Make your selections and click &#8220;Next&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ready to Install<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Review the installation settings you&#8217;ve chosen. If everything looks correct, click &#8220;Install&#8221; to begin the installation process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Installation Progress<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The installer will now extract and install WinSCP files on your system. Click &#8220;Finish&#8221; to exit the installer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Launching WinSCP<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you selected the option to run WinSCP after installation, it will launch automatically. Otherwise, you can find WinSCP in your Start menu or on your desktop and open it from there.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"connecting-and-transferring-files-with-win-scp\">Connecting and Transferring Files with WinSCP<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>WinSCP has made it simple to connect to your&nbsp;FTP&nbsp;server. ExaVault supports both\u00a0FTP\u00a0and\u00a0SFTP\u00a0connections. ExaVault does not support SCP or WebDav connections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your ExaVault\u00a0FTP\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unlimitedhostingplan.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/unlimitedhostingplan.in\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">server<\/a> (host) name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Port number will change depending on the protocol that you choose, port 21 for\u00a0FTP\u00a0and port 22 for\u00a0SFTP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add your User name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add your Password.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is what the connection to your ExaVault account might look like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Protocol:\u00a0SFTP<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Address:\u00a0bobsmith.exavault.com<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Username:\u00a0bobsmith<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Password:\u00a0* (be careful about handing these out!)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Port:\u00a022<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When you are all done, you can either click the&nbsp;<strong>Save<\/strong>&nbsp;button to save the connection information for future connections or click&nbsp;<strong>Login<\/strong>&nbsp;to get connected immediately to your server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"confirming-your-host-key\">Confirming Your Host Key<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.exavault.com\/_next\/image?url=https%3A%2F%2Fimages.prismic.io%2Fexavault-website%2F30247139-09b0-4287-bfa5-1e5ffdd16518_winscp%2B-%2BConfirming%2BYour%2BHost%2BKey.jpg%3Fauto%3Dcompress%2Cformat&amp;w=3840&amp;q=75\" alt=\"Confirming your host keys.\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When you first connect to your&nbsp;FTP&nbsp;server, WinSCP will prompt you to accept the provided host key. Accept this key by clicking the&nbsp;<strong>Yes<\/strong>&nbsp;button to confirm to WinSCP that the connection is expected and add the key to the list of known hosts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"disconnecting\">Disconnecting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You disconnect from your&nbsp;FTP&nbsp;server by selecting&nbsp;<strong>Disconnect<\/strong>&nbsp;from the&nbsp;<strong>Session<\/strong>&nbsp;menu.
