It can be really useful when you are troubleshooting problems related to mail delivery. For example, if your email queue is full and you are trying to find what is causing it. Usually, if you notice a lot of emails being sent from a specific email account in a very short period of time and the same are being queued up, this is a sign of a compromised account that is spamming and you should investigate it. Let\u2019s start the guide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"what-is-mail-queue\">What is Mail Queue?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mail Queue<\/strong> is a directory in SMTP Server that stores data and controls mail messages that delivered by sendmail command. Mail queues are formed when the SMTP server has many email messages queued up waiting to be delivered, to avoid sending too many messages from the same server at once \u2013 which can cause IP reputation issues. WHM allows you to manage the mail queue on your server and perform actions such as forcing delivery, removing emails from the queue, or checking the email content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-access-the-mail-queue-manager-in-whm\">How To Access The Mail Queue Manager In WHM?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Login to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unlimitedhostingplan.in\/reseller-hosting\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.unlimitedhostingplan.in\/reseller-hosting\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">WHM<\/a> and go to the \u2018Mail Queue Manager\u2019 page by entering the term \u2018mail queue\u2019 in the search box.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once displayed, click on the Mail Queue Manager option.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"searching-for-queued-emails\">Searching for Queued Emails<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the Mail Queue Manager main page you will see a section for searching through these queued emails. You can input either a Sender, Recipient, or Message ID (a unique identifier the mail server gives each email sent and received) to filter through the queued messages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you input a search for one of these options, select the corresponding option from the <strong>Select Query<\/strong> drop down menu next to the text box: <strong>Search Sender<\/strong>, <strong>Search Recipient<\/strong>, or <strong>Search Message ID<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can also select <strong>No Filter<\/strong> if you do not want to restrict the search to one of these specific options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The search filter also includes a section to select a particular time frame by entering a <strong>Start Date<\/strong> and <strong>End Date<\/strong>. This will filter the search results down to emails that fall within this time frame. You can also select messages from the main page of the Mail Queue Manager and click <strong>Deliver Selected<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/res.cloudinary.com\/lwgatsby\/f_auto\/www\/uploads\/2019\/06\/detailed-image-of-mail-queue.png\" alt=\"detailed view of the mail queue\" class=\"wp-image-21522\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The option Deliver All will attempt to send out all emails currently in the queue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"deleting-queued-emails\">Deleting Queued Emails<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To delete an email currently in the queue, you can view a specific email using the instructions above and then click <strong>Delete Message<\/strong>.<br>Multiple emails can be deleted from the queue using the main page of the Mail Queue Manager. You can either select each email you\u2019d like to remove and then click <strong>Delete Selected<\/strong>, or you can remove all queued emails by clicking <strong>Delete All.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"unfreezing-frozen-queued-emails\">Unfreezing Frozen Queued Emails<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You may see emails listed as <strong>Frozen<\/strong> under the <strong>Status<\/strong> column. These are emails that failed to deliver after multiple attempts, so in order to help the queue continue to run efficiently, the system will \u2018freeze\u2019 these emails. To unfreeze an email, you can click the second icon under actions:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/res.cloudinary.com\/lwgatsby\/f_auto\/www\/uploads\/2019\/06\/frozen-email-in-the-queue.png\" alt=\"frozen email in the mail queue\" class=\"wp-image-21523\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once unfrozen, the email will attempt to send during the next queue run.
